Some Cubans closed 2023 by burning a doll inspired by the rulerMiguel Diaz-Canel and they left a special message for him.

In Cuba thetradition of burning the doll at the end of the year to put an end to the bad and attract happiness in the new cycle that begins.

A group of Cubans prepared their doll this New Year's Eve and placed a message for the regime and the world in its hands:"Díaz-Canel, Singao".

On the social network

The brief text that the doll carried is an example of the repudiation that thousands of people on the island feel towards the ruler, whom they directly blame for poverty, scarcity and citizen insecurity in the country.

The burning of the Díaz-Canel doll is also a reminder of the lies told by the president at the end of 2022, when he promised that next year would be better. However, 2023 ended up being one of the worst stages for all sectors of the Cuban economy and society.

Díaz-Canel not only failed to keep his promises but closed the year by intensifying his austerity policies imposed on the people, which translate into an increase in the price of goods and services, more inflation, more uncertainty and shortages.
