Authorities applied fines after surprise inspections at agricultural fairs and businesses in Havana.

Due to the poor quality of the product, non-visible prices and non-compliance with the agreements, fines were imposed in municipalities such as La Habana Vieja, Boyeros, Centro Habana, Regla and Playa, refers to a report from the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

According to the report, the inspections were carried out by officials from the Ministry of Finance and Prices (MFP), representatives of Agriculture and local governments, who applied "strong fines and other measures."

Likewise, irregularities were found in the execution of regulations and contracts.

However, the report does not go into depth about the fines, measures and offenders and does explain, on the contrary, that at the Arroyo Naranjo agricultural fair the inspectors verified that the prices set were correct and the products were of good quality.

In Playa, for their part, they assure that price control reached non-state forms of management.

The Minister of Finance and Prices, Vladimir Regueiro Ale, urged the population to report price violations, and support inspectors or other representatives of the State when they publicly proceed to act against violators.

Lately, the leaders walk through Havana's agricultural markets and inspections take place, while prices and shortages continue to hit Cubans.

At the end of 2023, the vice president of the Cuban regime Salvador Valdés MesaHe toured the agricultural markets of Havana and “called for price control.”

While many Cubans will have an end of the year of lack and scarcity, the leader reviewed the weights of the Ayestarán market or reviewed the quality of the products at the La Palma Market, in the Arroyo Naranjo municipality.

In October, Cubans reacted on social networks tothe abusive prices of agricultural products that were for sale in a Havana market.
