The Cuban film director Rolando Diaz announced a few days ago that the Cuban actress Yuliet Cruz will be in charge of starring in the film Goodbye Cuba.
The talented actress will play the character of the “intense and passionate” Caridad, in a plot that portrays the experience of many Cubans who have had to say goodbye to their island. Consequently, we are shown this event from different perspectives, through the experiences of its protagonists.
When giving details of his decision, Díaz added in a publication on the social network Facebook that Cruz has a very solid professional career and is widely accepted by the Cuban public, highlighting several of his appearances on the big screen, such as the films Conduct, in which she plays the mother of little “Chala”, who had so much fame; and Molasses, by Carlos Lechuga.
He also highlighted the performance in “Aire Frío”, under the direction of Carlos Celdrán, from which Yuliet's theatrical lineage will favor the film regarding the theme of leaving the island.
Yuliet Cruz's reaction was immediate on her Instagram profile, from which, through a video, she thanked Rolando for taking her into account for his film work and highlighted the excellent cast of actors who will participate.
“Filmmaker Rolando Díaz will begin recording his new film. I have the immense joy of being under his masterful direction, and also of sharing the set with valuable actors and staff in this production. Thank you, dear Rolando, I am very honored to be part of “Adiós Cuba.” Grateful to be able to give life to Caridad,” the actress wrote.
