A fire that broke out in the "food warehouse" area of the Carlos Verdugo Teaching Polyclinic, in the city of Matanzas, was put out this Monday by firefighters without any injuries.

A note published by the pro-government newspaper Girón states that a "timely warning from the medical personnel on duty, and the immediate action of the fire department managed to extinguish" the fire in a short time.

The aforementioned source specified that the health center continues to operate and provide service since the flames did not spread to other areas.

Specialized forces of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) are working to determine the causes of the incident.

"At that moment the warehouse was hermetically closed but smoke was coming out of the window and under the door. Immediately the firefighters arrived and wasted no time, after examining the premises they proceeded to extinguish the fire," he told the aforementioned media. official nurse Yadira González Achón, witness to the fire.

In the comments section of the publication, in addition to congratulating the firefighters' actions, some Internet users were suspicious of the fact that the fire was in the food warehouse area.

"Hmm, and the strange fires continue in sensitive places"; "In the food warehouse? The inventory was burned"; "One question, what was in the inventory of that warehouse, please? "Food warehouse...what groceries?" some commentators questioned.

At the closing of this note, no other details have emerged about the fire that occurred at the Matanzas hospital, nor have any notes on what could have caused it.
