A Cuban lamented on his social networks the current image that the city of Holguín offers, describing it as “infertile and empty.”

Facebook user Walt Lamb, apparently a Holguin native who lives in Santiago de Cuba, described a recent stay in the so-called City of Parks as an ordeal.

“From my experience I can tell you that in La Comarca, you have at least 15 hours of blackout each day, the Calixto García park is no exception to that. The Internet connection through mobile data only works on the street, slow and unbearable,” said the user, who works as a general producer at the Pura Vida Company.

He admitted that he knew of demonstrations with pots and pans and that the population in Holguín seems “decimated.”

“There is only light and joy in the Plaza de la Marqueta, it is said that it is a Machi business, I have no proof or doubts. The park is very sad,” he confessed.

He took the opportunity to launch a call to Holguín residents who live in other parts of the world. “I regret to inform you that all we have left is the earth, every day more infertile and empty,” was his message.

In the comments section, several users supported their approaches.

“And so Cuba is almost complete,” said one Internet user.

Another person thanked her for her complaint, while a user commented that when she tells what happens many doubt, “but you have to be here to feel Holguín,” she said.

Recently,Cuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez visited one of the Holguín municipalities, and the authorities took resources to impress the president and not make a fool of himself.

According to a source who approachedCybercuba and requested anonymity, the Calixto García municipality was unrecognizable, due to all the sudden “changes” they made in the town.

“That was wonderful,” said the aforementioned source to summarize the entire circus put together by the authorities in Buenaventura, the municipal capital.
