The Spanish police dismantled a sexual exploitation network in Granada (southern of the country) that forced immigrants from Cuba and Colombia into prostitution.

According to the information released by that organization, four people were arrested – two women and two men between 24 and 45 years old – who were part of a criminal network dedicated to trafficking women for sexual exploitation in a city apartment, reported the agencyWHICH.

The victims – three women and one man – were released.

The investigation by the authorities began after receiving several complaints for allegedsexual exploitation and drug trafficking.

WHICH reported that the alleged culprits had taken advantage of thevulnerable situation of the victims, who were residing irregularly in Spain, to force them to practice prostitution.

The victims were continuously monitored with cameras and forced to offer all clients drugs provided by a Colombian who had a cocaine laboratory that was dismantled in this same police operation.

The detainees were placed at the disposal of the judicial authority and the Colombian citizen who ran the cocaine laboratory and distribution was imprisoned.

Thepolice Spanish also dismantled another network of human trafficking (Latin Americans) for sexual exploitation in Spanish cities such as Santander, Valladolid and Avilés.

"The dismantled organization forced women to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and to ask for permission to bathe or attend to their menstrual hygiene," she explained.

At least five people were arrested in Cantabria (3), Madrid (1) and Avilés (1), among whom is the main person responsible for the group who has already been placed in provisional prison.

They deceived the victims in their countries of origin, taking advantage of their poverty and promising them work in Spain. Upon arrival they were informed that they owed up to 6,500 euros and that they had to prostitute themselves until they paid it. However, they were charged other weekly fees that increased the debt.
