Cubans on social networks ask for help to get a medicine for a child from Cienfuegos who suffered serious burns.
The little one is called Kamel, is six years old and lives in the town of Covadonga, which belongs to the Aguada de Pasajeros municipality.
Kenia Morales requested citizen collaboration to achieve Mederma, a cream which is used to treat old and new scars caused, among other factors, by burns. Mederma penetrates beneath the surface of the skin and retains moisture, promotes collagen production and renews cells.
"I share his photos so you can see the extent of his burns. Yesterday I made an emergency call asking for help for him. Thanks to everyone who reads me and follows me on social networks and the kindness of two people, they were able to get two tubes of the cream that this baby needs, but it's not enough," Kenya said in Facebook.
The non-governmental organization Sowing Hope also publicized the case and offered a phone number to call if anyone wanted to collaborate.
"To help, please call +53 54355064", he expressed in Facebook.
Several people said they had the drug and asked how to get it to the minor.
The health crisis in the country forces the population to turn to social networks to be able to acquire medicines or necessary supplies.
In January, a resident in Ciego de Ávila asked for help for a child who had suffered serious burns after a domestic hot water accident, and he urgently needed bandages and dressings for the cures.
The minor was admitted to the provincial hospital, but the bandages had run out.
The applicant, a friend of the patient's mother, shared two photos in which it was seen that the child's back was raw and had several blisters, due to the severity of the burns.
In July of last year, several Cubans asked for help for a baby from Pinar del Río, admitted to the Pepe Portilla Pediatric Hospital with multiple serious burns.
The little boy had more than 50 burns on his body and was completely bandaged and blistered, in a stable but delicate condition. He needed collagenase, an ointment, as well as healing material or silver sulfadiazine.
Months before, neighbors from the same province asked help for a girl admitted to the burn room of the pediatric hospital, who had apparently suffered the burn due to the negligence of the family members who cared for her.
