In recent years, the crisis in Cuba, the worst in the last six decades, has significantly affected people's transportation, especially with the rise in prices.

The situation worsens with the recent instability in the fuel supply in the country.

This suspension of the “gazelles” service comes at a time whenThe government tries to regulate the prices that private transporters They charge citizens, a measure they promote without considering the scarcity of resources, and after starting the sale of fuel in dollars at many gas stations in the country.

The Minister of Transportation in Cuba, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, warned that this service in Havana presents irregularities due to lack of fuel andemphasized that it needs financing in convertible currencies.

"It is necessary to move forward in the search for financing in convertible currencies to contract more vehicles of this type (preferably electric), which will allow increasing the level of services on existing routes and valuing others, even in the provinces," said Rodríguez.

Recently the Cuban government confirmed the arrival at the port of the island ofa ship of Russian origin with more than 90 thousand tons of oil.

“Already at the dock of the Matanzas Supertanqueros base, a ship with more than 90 thousand tons of Russian oil,” they said from that government entity.

The fuel from Russia may be a temporary relief to the difficult transportation situation in the country.
