Property records indicate that the mansion was last sold in 1998, for $2.5 million, the financial services site noted.

Bezos, 60 years old and adopted son of a Cuban, announced last November that he was moving to Miami from Seattle, where he lived for almost 30 years, because He wanted to be close to his parents, Jackie and Miguel Bezos..

For the second property, acquired in October, he paid $79 million. This seven-bedroom, 14-bathroom, 1.84-acre mansion is adjacent to the first one he had purchased months earlier.

The village of Indian Creek has only 41 residential lots, has a country club and its own police department.

Although Bezos is the richest resident of the island, it is also home to celebrities and tycoons such as Jeffrey Soffer, Carl Icahn, Tom Brady, Julio Iglesias, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner.

The businessman's properties also include houses in Washington, a farm in Maui and a residence in Beverly Hills, which he acquired for $165 million dollars in 2020, according to Bloomberg.
