TheEuropean Union (EU) announced that it will deliver200,000 euros to the Cuban Red Cross to “help the most affected people”due to the floods that occurred at the end of March in Cuba.

This funding will helpCuban Red Cross “to distribute materials for the emergency accommodation of people who have lost their homes, such as tents, mattresses, kitchen utensils and other basic belongings,” he indicated in astatement the representation of the EU in Cuba.

The text indicates that “the distribution of water tanks and hygiene kits, as well as the development of hygiene promotion campaigns,” is also planned.

The EU intends to directly benefit 3,300 people in the most affected areas, in the provinces ofSagebrush, Mayabeque, MatanzasandHavana.

The international organization justified the financing as “part of the EU's global contribution to the Emergency Fund for Disaster Response and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.”

This is another evidence that the Havana regime is financed by the bloc of European countries.

The coordinator of the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC),Orlando Gutierrez Boronat, suggested this Tuesday that this help should be channeled through civil society. “If they do it through the regime, it will never reach the people"he declared toCuba DNA.

Important politicians from the old continent have also demanded the cessation of EU financing to the Cuban regime.

Last March, the Spanish and liberal MEPJosé Ramón Bauzá asked EU member countries to stop supporting repression on the island.

Recently, the EU came to the aid of the Cuban regime with the construction of asolar park on the island, in the midst of the serious deficiencies of the national electrical system.

According toCuban Diary, the project aims to provide energy to 8,500 Cuban homes, generate savings of 84 million euros, replace 168,000 tons of fuel and avoid the emission of 721,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
