Cuban arrested in Miami for stealing thousands of dollars from gaming machines with an ax

The subject allegedly used an ax to commit the crime in Hialeah, in front of local workers, and it was recorded on cameras.


A Cuban was arrested in Miami after violently stealing thousands of dollars from gaming machines in a restaurant.

Otniel Rodríguez, 40, was captured by security cameras while carrying out the robbery in a well-known coffee shop in Hialeah.

Armed with an ax, Rodríguez smashed several arcade machines to extract the money, stealing more than $7,000 in cash.

The incident caused dismay in the local community. The police made a quick identification and proceeded to arrest the alleged thief.

Rodriguez faces charges of armed robbery and property damage. He had his first appearance in court this Wednesday, before the judge Mindy S. Glazer.
