Cuban living in Canada responds to criticism for her accent: "Do you want me to speak Chocolate style?"

Cuban living in Canada responds to comments because of her Cuban accent.

TikTok user @soy_gabbyyy has given a very forceful response to a user who has questioned her Cuban accent despite her being from Havana.

"Cuban with that accent?" a person asked this Cuban who lives in Canada, questioning her nationality. Faced with this question, the TikToker responded firmly in another video.

"Born and raised in Havana until I was 20 years old. It's super funny because they've said everything to me because of my accent. I'm sure my husband isn't Canadian, he's Spanish, I'm from the East that's why I have this accent, I look Venezuelan." ... But when he spoke Spanish with the Latin people here, they told me 'you speak Cuban,'" @soy_gabbyyy began by saying.

"I don't know what they expect as a Cuban accent. The Chocolate style is not me. After 10 years living in Canada I will not have the same accent. I don't live in Miami, I live in Montreal. Nothing against the people of Miami , but they speak more Spanish and with more Cuban people than me", he concluded.

Given her response, this Cuban has received the support of other Cubans and some of them have experienced the same problem firsthand.

"If we don't speak vulgar and swear words we are not Cuban. The same thing happens to me", "Your Cuban accent is beautiful, beautiful, perfect, educated, with class... it is understood when you speak", "Latinos in Canada, especially in Montreal, lose their accent because there are so many nationalities and we mix so much. Montreal is a mix from all the countries in the world" or "You have a neutral accent and you speak very beautifully", are some of the comments they left.
