The Cuban singer Maria Antonieta Fernandez He celebrated his 50 years of artistic life with a show at the Alfaros nightclub in Little Havana.

María Antonieta was very popular in Cuba in the 80s and 90s, until she decided to emigrate and, as happened to so many artists, she was silenced forever in the official media.

In those years it was common to see her on television, exhibiting a particular and studied image, with very striking dresses and high hairstyles and complexes that were in tune with his powerful voice and the strength he displayed on stage.

"During this period, he impressed audiences with his unique style and his ability to convey emotions through his music," he recalled in Facebook the actor and producer Ismael C Requejo Ameng.

"She has taken her music and her talent to various countries, including Curaçao, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Japan and Madrid. Her vocal versatility and her ability to interpret different genres and rites have made her a prominent figure in Cuban music," he stressed.

Born in July 1955, Marie Antoinette was a model and dancer. He also did a lot of cabaret, where he began his professional career in his native Camagüey. He performed on various stages around the world with the international show Tropicana Cabaret.

Based in Miami since 2012, he acknowledged in an interview with Telemundo 51 that when he arrived in the Florida city he initially thought that he would not be able to continue with his profession.

He revealed that during the pandemic he gained about 50 pounds, but that the main change he has experienced in his life is that he is now a much more grateful person.
