Cuban against Cuban: Kevin Brown and Idalberto Umara will fight on a boxing card in Florida

The fight is scheduled for May 31 at the Caribe Royale Hotel, in the city of Orlando, as part of a Boxlab Promotions evening.

Both fighters will fight to achieve the intercontinental prize of the World Boxing Association (WBA), in a gala that presents the expectation of seeing the quality of the contenders in the ring.

Luis de Cubas, an executive at Warriors Boxing and with a preference for Brown, said that “this should be a tremendous fight that will get everyone out of their seats.”

Meanwhile, he was confident that “seeing two Cubans fight is now part of the normal and not different. There are many talented Cuban boxers. This was inevitable."

On Umara's part, they mentioned that "when they proposed this fight to us and we asked Idaberto, he did not hesitate for a minute," he revealed. Osmiris Fernandez, head trainer for M&R Boxing Promotions who manages Umara's career.

He added that they respect Brown and what he has been doing in his professional career, but “we fully trust our boy.”

He was one of the greatest prospects in Cuban boxing, but decided to go to Mexico first and then cross the border to reach the United States.
