The authorities were alerted through the emergency center about the situation and moved to the scene. Security agents carried out the necessary procedures. They requested the intervention of the forensic services of the Costa Border District Attorney's Office.

When examining the body of the deceased, the forensic services personnel did not find any apparent injuries, which reinforces the hypothesis of a cardiac arrest as the cause of death.

The death of this Cuban man in Mexico is a reminder of the difficult conditions that migrants face in their search for a better life outside their home country. Many times, they do not seek medical attention in time due to lack of economic resources or fear of deportation.

In March, another Cuban migrant, Yaileisy Asin Estévez, originally from Santiago de Cuba, died as a result of a diabetic coma. She was living in Mexico, waiting for CBP One appointment to legally cross into U.S. territory and seek asylum in that country.
