For many artists in exile, especially those like Emilio Estefan who have not set foot in their homeland for several years, it is impossible to talk about Cuba without nostalgia.

The Cuban-American musician and producer remembered his country during a trip to the Bahamas due to how close he was to it, as well as the natural landscape shared by the countries in this Caribbean region.

On one of my recent trips to the Bahamas, I realized how close and yet so far I was from my country, which I think about every day. It brings back so many beautiful memories," the artist wrote on his Instagram profile.

Next to a photo embracing his wife Gloria Estefan with the sea in the background, he added: "I just hope that one day she will be free so they can enjoy all the beauty that my island has."

Emilio Estefan is one of the artists in exile who has never stopped demanding the end of the dictatorship in Cuba.

During the protests last March, the musician supported the people who took to the streets and demanded freedom for all political prisoners and respect for human rights.
