Emilio Estefan demands the end of the dictatorship after massive protests in Cuba

The Cuban artist remembered his song “Libertad”: “A song that I wrote from the heart, which reflects the history of all of us Cubans, those from here and those from there.”


The Cuban musicianEmilio Estefan demanded the end of the Cuban dictatorship in support of the massive protests that took place this March 17 in Santiago de Cuba, Bayamo and Cárdenas.

"They are not alone.Cuba's freedom is approaching. No more dictatorship. Respect for human rights and freedom for all political prisoners,” was Estefan's message in a post on Instagram.

The Cuban artist accompanied his postthe song “Freedom”: “A song that I wrote from the heart, that reflects the history of all of us Cubans, here and there.”

This song Emilio EstefanIt was released after the historic 9/11 protests and the video shows images of the demonstrations in various locations on the island and the repression carried out by the regime against the people.

One more timeCubans took to the streets again motivated by the lack of electricity and food, but in the potestas they were also heardcries of freedom, “Homeland and Life” and “down with communism.”
