A woman identified as Morgan Taylor Jones, 32, was arrested in Miami after abandoning one of her children at a bus stop.

The mother, who arrived in Florida with her two children last Wednesday, is facing two counts of child neglect for leaving her 12-year-old son at a bus stop in Hialeah and keeping him with another two-year-old in unsanitary conditions, according to Local 10.

According to an arrest report, on Thursday the boy had an argument with the woman at the bus stop, expressing his desire to go back to his grandmother in Missouri.

She checked her phone and saw that it would take 20 days to walk to that state to reunite with her grandmother. Then, she walked away from the bus stop in front of Wendy's at 1730 W. 49th St., near Westland Mall.

Authorities arrested 32-year-old Morgan Taylor Jones early Thursday morning, asserting that she left the child alone in an unfamiliar neighborhood.

The police reported that Jones shouted the child's name as he was leaving, but he never followed him.

The boy called his grandmother around 9:00 PM to tell her what he was doing, but she asked him to find his mom. However, when the child arrived at the bus stop, Jones was no longer there.

The boy said he couldn't call his mother because her phone was dead and his was about to run out of battery. However, he was allowed to charge it at Wendy's and was able to give his grandmother the location, who then notified the Hialeah police to come and rescue him.

In speaking with the police, the victim mentioned that he and his younger brother had not showered in over a week and that he did not know where he would sleep that night.

"Both victims were wearing dirty clothes, their skin was covered in dirt, and they emitted a strong body odor due to lack of hygiene," the report states.

Until last Friday, Jones was held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,000 bond.
