Not even the power outage could overshadow the emotion of a young Cuban who surprised her mother on the island with a reunion to remember.

The young woman, who goes by the name cubanitacepero on TikTok, shared the emotional video of the moment on her profile on the platform, which captures everything from her waiting outside the house to her mother opening the door and, unable to contain her tears upon seeing her, rushing to hug her daughter for the long-awaited embrace.

"After five years away and two without seeing my people because it was a surprise for them, this was my mom's reaction," he said alongside the video, which sparked congratulations on the internet for being able to make the longed-for wish of so many Cubans to reunite with their families come true.

Before this post, the young woman had shared another video of the touching moment when she surprised her dad.

"How much I longed for this hug," she also said when showing the reunion with her grandparents.
