A 15-year-old teenager, residing in Estero, a town in Lee County, in southwest Florida, experienced the scare of his life when, while catching a fish known as Cichla or Peacock Bass, he was chased by a hungry alligator that tried to snatch his catch.
The television station WINK News recently published a video recorded by Gavin Borsky in which a young man is seen fishing in the community of Stoneybrook, in Estero.
While using his fishing rod, Borsky noticed that the alligator was coming out of the water chasing the young fisherman, as stated by the source.
The video shows the moment when the reptile quickly follows its prey onto land, forcing Borsky to move away from his fishing line and phone camera.
Later, the alligator managed to pull the fish off the hook and returned victoriously to the lake.
According to WINK News, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, FWC for its acronym in English, has created a State Nuisance Alligator Program, with the intention of combating potential threats in populated communities.
The initiative aims, on one hand, to control threats in urbanized areas, and at the same time, to conserve reptiles in their natural habitats.
Through trappers from all over Florida, the FWC will capture and relocate those reptiles as long as they measure at least 4 feet (1.2 meters) long and people consider them a threat to themselves, their pets, or property.
Likewise, WINK News pointed out that it is illegal to interact with the reptile or touch it, since a bite from the animal can cause a serious infection as well as injuries.
A 104-year-old woman was the victim last Monday of a unique break-in: a six-foot alligator broke into her property in the city of Jacksonville, Florida, causing terror to the woman.
Agents Kopp and Johnson responded to the call from the woman, whose residence is located near Atlantic Boulevard and Art Museum Drive, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on Instagram.
Recently, Martin Brenner, a resident of the city of New Smyrna Beach, in the state of Florida, also experienced one of his worst nightmares when he found a three-meter (10-foot) long alligator in his home's pool.
According to the homeowner of the house located in the Venetian Bay community, the unusual thing was the surprising way it entered: "It didn't tear anything or cause any damage, it just pushed the piece of mesh aside," reported News 6.
