Inter Miami could soon have a world champion duo from Qatar 2022 if rumors come true and Ángel Di María joins the club to play alongside his friend and teammate on the Argentine national team, Lionel Messi.

The football future of “El Fideo” is trending in the South American nation, as many believed that his departure from Europe would lead to a return to Rosario Central. However, it seems that the story is about to take a 180-degree turn.

According to various sources, the current forward for Benfica and the franchise in South Florida have reached a financial agreement, although it remains to be determined whether he will join after the upcoming Copa América or in January 2025.

In fact, Gerardo Martino, the coach of "Las Garzas," was asked about the matter a couple of weeks ago: "There's no need to discuss his footballing abilities. He's an established player, but I can't comment on how the transfer might materialize. There are still two months until the market opens. However, it would be a lack of respect for me to have to give the green light for someone of his caliber."

From major franchises such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Paris Saint Germain, Di María would share the locker room with other well-known players from the Old Continent: Uruguayan Luis Suárez and Spaniards Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.

Inter Miami would thus become the seventh club in the career of the forward born on February 14, 1988, who also represented Juventus in Italy's Serie A.

The experienced forward announced that he will wear the sky blue and white jersey for the last time at the Copa América, scheduled to take place in various stadiums across the United States from June 21 to July 15. Argentina will be defending the title they won in 2021, when they defeated Brazil in the final with a goal from "El Fideo."

His achievements include league championships with Real Madrid, PSG, and Benfica, as well as a UEFA Champions League title and a Supercup of Europe. Additionally, he has a gold medal from the Beijing 2008 Olympics and has repeated the most prestigious award: Qatar 2022.
