Emotional farewell to Cubans escaping by boat: "May God be with you!"

Cubans continue to leave the country by sea despite the high chances of being returned to the island if caught by the authorities.

A group of Cubans who were picked up by a speedboat at a coastal point in the country were encouraged by onlookers who wished them good luck and a safe journey.

The scene, which certainly is not the first in recent years but always generates excitement, was published by journalist Mario J. Pentón.

"May God bless you! May God accompany you and arrive safely! That's how a group of Cubans bid farewell on the coast to other people leaving the island on a speedboat. This video was sent to me today without further details of when it happened or who filmed it, but it reflects what is happening in Cuba, an island in exodus," wrote the communicator on his social networks.

In a recent update on the case, Pentón specified that the video was recorded in Pinar del Río, from where the Cubans set off for Mexico, where they are still located with the intention to continue their journey to the United States.

In the footage, which lasts almost two minutes, a white boat can be seen approaching the coast at sunset.

Immediately, at least half a dozen people jump into the water and climb onto the boat amidst shouts encouraging those who hesitate or are unsure about leaving.

"Move," "Throw yourself in, the team is slipping away from you!"; "Hurry up, girl," "Don't wait," "Oh, how beautiful that is!," "What a blast!"; "Girl, take advantage of that. Don't wait for anything, go for it!," two witnesses are heard shouting amidst the nerves of the moment.

After boarding the boat, those who dared to take the step, the people who were recording added the finishing touch to the emotional scene with words of good wishes.

"May God bless you all!"; "May God be with you and arrive safely!"; "Oh my God, may God help you!", they exclaimed. "Look how beautiful!" concluded one of the witnesses visibly excited as she saw the boat heading out to sea.
