The Cuban Aliusky Almaguer Lopez, who had been reported missing after a traffic accident in Santiago de Cuba, was found dead this Saturday in an office of the CIMEX corporation where he worked.

The independent reporter Yosmany Labrada posted on Facebook images of the accident involving a Van from the corporation CIMEX driven by Almaguer López and confirmed that the 41-year-old man appeared lifeless, apparently a victim of suicide.

His vehicle collided with a vintage car at the intersection of San Francisco Street and San Félix; but no injuries were reported.

The relatives of Almaguer López, who lived in the Altamira neighborhood and was the father of two children, did not know anything else about him since the moment of the accident.

Apparently, the man left the scene and, believing that the accident had been serious, locked himself in his office where he was found hanged.

His wife, Daineris Aguilera Rojas, made a post on social media asking for help to locate him and stated that they had searched for him, unsuccessfully, in several hospitals in the city.

However, after 10:30 am this Saturday, several people, including Cimex workers, confirmed to the reporter that Almaguer López had been found.

"Good morning Yosmany, I was a colleague of Aliuski and a very good friend. Ever since I found out he was missing, I've moved heaven and earth to know about him. And now this morning they just told me that he took his own life," a source said.

The deceased person worked at the Cimex Offices in the Vista Alegre neighborhood of Santiago de Cuba, where he worked as a Driver and Security and Alarm Technician.

Apparently, he believed that the traffic accident was severe and saw death as the only way out, the publication states.
