The Cuban reggaeton artist Yosvani Hernández Sierra, better known as Chocolate MC, was accused of threatening to kill his ex-partner's boyfriend.
Chocolate appeared in criminal court this Friday, presided over by Judge Mindy S. Glazer, where he was transferred from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TDK) in Miami-Dade. According to América TeVe, he has been there since May 10, after being arrested on charges unrelated to this incident.
América TeVe showed a video of the singer's appearance, who was accused of threatening Cuban influencer and musician Diosnel Martell on the internet when he was in a relationship with Hany Díaz, Chocolate's former partner.
On April 4th, Yenni Álvarez Torres, mother of Diosnel, reported that her son received death threats on YouTube, Tiktok, Instagram, and Twitter.
The next day, Yosvanis Sierra was arrested by the authorities of Palm Beach County, after the Police had been searching for him for days for the alleged kidnapping of Hany Díaz.
In statements to the influencer known as Un Martí To Durako, the young woman said that Chocolate took her in his car, threatened to kill her, sexually abused her, and then fled.
A friend known as La Muñeka confirmed that she witnessed the kidnapping and was also beaten by him.
Just over a month later, the charges against the Cuban reggaeton artist came to light.
A Martí To Durako shared his police record, which listed, among other charges, "sexual assault without severe injuries, kidnapping, possession of firearms, aggravated assault, and robbery by sudden snatch".
Days later, it was revealed that the events took place on March 31st, when Chocolate intercepted his ex-girlfriend and a friend in a gray Honda Passport, after both had exited an Uber outside an apartment building on the 1700 block of 27th Avenue in southwest Miami.
He forced his ex-girlfriend to get into his car and took her to Palm Beach County.
