The Cuban teenager Dayana Riverón impressed this Saturday with her talent in the battles of La Voz Kids Spain, thus securing a place in the next phase of the singing competition in its 2024 edition.
Singer David Bisbal, alongside fellow musician Álvaro Soler, chose the song "Mía", a composition by Mexican songwriter Armando Manzanero, for this phase of the competition, as reported by the Antena 3 channel's website.
Riverón, 14 years old, felt very comfortable with this flamenco-style bolero, which she shared on this occasion with fellow contestants and teammates Esther, Iván, and Juan.
Bisbal stated that they did much better during rehearsals. However, together with his advisor, Soler, they decided to give the pass to the Cuban contestant and Esther.
Despite her lack of experience in the flamenco genre, they chose Dayana in the battle, not only for her great voice but also for "her precision."
The Cuban singer, who displays a mature and experienced vocal style, managed to convey the feeling that she carries inside and put her heart into the bolero, thus earning praise from several coaches.
One of the happiest with this song was Rosario Flores, who thanked Bisbal for choosing a very popular song from her sister Lolita's repertoire.
Riverón dedicated some beautiful words to his teammates in a story shared on Instagram: "To my boys, I will lack words to thank you for so much love and connection in such a short time. You became a memory that I will always carry with me. I love you."
During the blind auditions, with her enormous talent, this Cuban teenager caused a dispute between Bisbal and Melendi, who displayed their best skills to have the girl on their respective teams.
Finally, Riverón chose Bisbal's team, but before that, he revealed that, although he is of Cuban origin, he currently resides in Gran Canaria.
Recently, the teenager admitted to feeling admiration for the Mariachi genre: "Today I dared to return to the Mariachi genre that I love so much," she wrote on Instagram, where she shared a video performing the song "Si nos dejan," by the composer José Alfredo Jiménez.
