Meeting of Cuban military personnel and leaders with air conditioning set at 17 degrees.

The umpteenth complaint about this situation came to light on platform X, a space used by journalist Mario Pentón to expose the double standards of those defining the future of a people who suffer from each of the communist regime's bad decisions.

Despite the serious energy crisis in Cuba and the continuous blackouts in all provinces, Cuban military and leaders hold their meetings with air conditioning at full capacity, and then, they ask families to "save electricity" and "resist creatively."

The umpteenth complaint about this situation came to light on platform X, a space used by journalist Mario Pentón to expose the double standards of those who define the future of a people that suffers from each of the bad decisions made by the communist regime.

People are asked to save money and they are bombarded with blackouts, but Cuban military personnel and leaders cannot live without air conditioning. Here they are, in Ciego de Ávila, gathered with the equipment at maximum capacity, at 17 degrees Celsius. In short, hypocrisy," the communicator wrote.

After several inquiries, CiberCuba learned that the meeting took place at the Jardines del Rey International Airport, in Cayo Coco, with the presence of senior officials from the Civil Defense to discuss natural disaster topics.

A few days ago, the Castroist commander Ramiro Valdés called for "a rational use of energy wherever they may be," and the Electric Union (UNE) supported the request on Facebook, stating: "Just by turning off an unnecessary light, we could help a lot to alleviate the burden weighing on the shoulders of Cuba, a country that is doing everything possible to overcome the current situation, for the well-being of the people."

The same UNE maintains a fierce campaign in this regard, to the point of asking Havana residents to embrace saving as a way of life to avoid annoying interruptions. However, it seems that these messages are not directed at the leaders, or they are simply not interested.

The truth is that Cubans endure power outages of up to 20 hours daily, making a normal life impossible. The blackouts are mainly due to the lack of investment and maintenance in the country's electrical infrastructure, as well as the dependence on imported fuels to generate energy.

Moreover, the president himself, Miguel Díaz-Canel, admitted in his new YouTube space that there are no guarantees that the summer months will pass without disruptions in the electrical service.

Díaz-Canel reiterated what the Unión Eléctrica announced weeks ago, that power outages would increase due to the rise in maintenance work at the thermoelectric plants, in an attempt to ensure service during July and August.

"We are going to have extended maintenance works until the month of June to minimize the inconvenience of power outages in the summer, especially in the months of July and August," stated the country's leader.
