The Cuban activist Niurka Préstamo made a plea for help on social media after losing everything during the recent floods that occurred in several cities in Florida.
Through their TikTok account, Préstamo showed the conditions in which their house was left.
"Look at my little house," she wrote in a video where you can see the level the water reached, which left her with nothing, although she stated that what hurt the most to lose was a suitcase full of family photos.
"I can recover the material things, but not the memories," he wrote.
This situation has led Niurka to launch a fundraising campaign on the GoFundMe platform, where she is requesting financial support to start from scratch.
"This time it's me, we never know where life is going to put us, that's why I never tire of doing good," he said to bring visibility to his request.
The heavy rains in Florida have caused significant flooding, tornadoes, highway closures, class suspensions, and the cancellation of nearly 300 flights.
"The insurance companies are going to go bankrupt after this storm... Here's a look at some of the wildest moments of today's flooding!" summarized the popular Instagram account Only in Dade last Wednesday.
Until last Friday, several neighborhoods in the northern Miami-Dade County remained under over a foot of water days after the heavy storms.
