An 18-year-old young man identified after being killed in a street party fight in Santiago de Cuba

The young man was seriously injured during a street party on Saturday night in Santiago de Cuba.

A violent brawl that took place on Saturday night at a street party in Santiago de Cuba had a tragic outcome: one person was injured and another, identified as Dagner Lara Villalón, 18 years old, died.

The independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta reported on Facebook that the incident occurred on Trocha Street, where the two young people were attacked with bladed weapons. Later, both were taken to the Military Hospital Joaquín Castillo Duany.

According to the communicator, one of the injured was operated on at the healthcare center, although there is no information available about their current health condition. Meanwhile, Lara died as a result of the injuries she suffered.

Mayeta indicated that the images received from followers showed injuries of great magnitude.

The young man resided in the neighborhood of Agüero, in the vicinity of the José Martí Urban Center.

The mother of the murdered young man is named Yuleidi Villalón Suárez and works in the Government of Santiago de Cuba, as do other members of that family," the journalist pointed out.

Lara's parent, who works at a gas station, received the sad news of his son's death this Sunday, Father's Day.

Also, he reported that Trocha Street remains closed this Sunday, "because the forensic team is at the scene outlining the area and investigating details that will lead them to clarify the incident."

Finally, he requested that if anyone had information that could help identify the attacker or attackers, they should contact him through social media.

Recently, a massive brawl between groups of young people took place in Havana, leaving horrifying images of gangs armed with machetes and individuals injured by bladed weapons, according to reports on social media.

The events took place in the vicinity of the area known as Finca de los Monos (Quinta de las Delicias), in the municipality of Cerro in the Cuban capital, during a festive event apparently organized by the Union of Communist Youth (UJC) to kick off their summer campaign.

After the massive fight among young people at Finca de los Monos, the government stated that the incident was related to an unauthorized activity; however, the venue was indeed promoted by state television.
