The National Weather Service (NWS) of the United States issued a tropical storm alert today for the coast of Texas from Port O'Connor southward to the mouth of the Rio Grande.

Through a statement, the governmental entity reported that the government of Mexico has also issued a tropical storm alert for the northeast coast of that country south of the mouth of the Rio Grande to Boca de Catan.

He also pointed out that a tropical storm watch means that conditions are favorable for the formation of a weather event within the watch area, usually within the next 48 hours.

At 4:00 p.m., it was noted that the system is moving towards the north-northwest at about 7 mph (11 km/h), and this general movement is expected to continue until Tuesday.

By that evening or Wednesday, a turn to the west-northwest is expected, and it is likely to approach the western coast of the Gulf by Wednesday night.

At the moment, "the disturbance is quite large with tropical storm force winds, extending outward up to 290 miles (465 km) northeast of the center."

Although the development of this meteorological system is far from the Cuban coasts, it is important to take into account the conditions for the transit of small vessels, due to the danger to life.
