The puppy that suffered a radial and ulnar fracture after falling down some stairs, an incident that prompted animal protectors to raise 16,500 pesos for her surgery this Monday, is recovering well following her surgical intervention.
The activist Yenney Caballero, who organized the fundraiser, reported on Facebook that the dog named Princesa has undergone surgery and had the fixators placed, with only her recovery pending.
"We did it, gentlemen, once again we did it together," said Caballero, who expressed gratitude to everyone who supported this cause, from those who donated money and shared the post to those who offered positive messages.
The animal shelter also shared a video showing Princesa walking with difficulty as a result of the surgery. However, the strength of the animal is evident, which bodes well for a quick and successful recovery.
"I will continue to save lives, I will keep being a light on this planet; this is my cause, nothing will stop me. I am doing good for living beings who deserve it," said Caballero.
This activist, who resides in San José de Las Lajas, Mayabeque, and has repeatedly shown herself to be a fervent defender of animal rights, recently played a crucial role in rescuing a dog that was locked up and suffering from hunger.
Caballero learned about the situation of a Siberian Husky puppy that had been trapped for three days in an abandoned house in San José de las Lajas, and he immediately set out to rescue the unfortunate animal.
The woman broke a piece of the acrylic door, and when she inserted her phone's camera, she discovered that the place was abandoned and that the prisoner was a puppy.
Outraged and unsure of what to do, Caballero ultimately decided to release the animal through the opening in the acrylic and told the dog's owners to seek her out and, if they wished, report her to the police.
