The Cuban TikToker Argüelles Positivo shared a reflective and inspiring video on TikTok aimed at those who have achieved their goal of reaching the United States, offering words of encouragement and sharing his perspective on the challenges they will face in their new life.
"You fulfilled your dream and arrived in the United States, you made it to the 'yuma,' so congratulations and blessings," began Argüelles, his reflection with which he intends to "tell you what no one tells you but I am going to tell you in a way of learning, so that you know what you will face from now on."
In his widely commented video, the young man, known on the internet for this type of reflections and motivating speeches, warned that the first years in the United States would be difficult: "You are going to do things and jobs that you never thought you were going to do in your country," he explained and cautioned that it didn't matter what profession you practiced in your home country: everyone had to start from scratch.
The TikToker also talked about the opportunities that could be missed due to lack of transportation, lack of language skills, and absence of documents. Additionally, he mentioned the support from other people: "You also have to know that those friendships and those family members who were there for you, many times they are going to disappear and you will be left alone," he said in that sense.
She closed her words with a call to hope and to not be overcome by doubts or initial uncertainties: "Many times you will feel frustrated and want to throw everything in the trash and return to your country, but the great news is that if you are already here, there is no room to turn back."
Despite the challenges that he recognizes will be on the way, Argüelles maintained an optimistic tone: "If you are already here, you are a champion. You have already achieved the most important thing in your life, which is to get out of where you were," he continued and encouraged to keep faith and determination to overcome difficulties and achieve their goals in the United States, because "the foreigner needs heart, faith, and a lot of brain to know how to rise in difficult times and say I am here and I came to fulfill my goal."
