"I'm not going back with the kids": Cuban from Miami shares her experience of visiting the island

There are a number of illnesses that I cannot explain to you.

A Cuban woman shared on TikTok how her recent visit to the island had been. On the network, the young woman @diviertete_con_made recounted her chaotic experience during a recent trip to Cuba.

According to her testimony, the journey was filled with difficulties from the beginning to the end: "From the moment we left here, from the time we arrived at Miami airport until we returned 7 days later, the trip to Cuba was chaos," Made began explaining.

One of the main reasons for his trip was to take an electric generator for his mother-in-law, due to the frequent power outages on the island. However, to transport the equipment, he opted for a charter flight, which he described as a "colossal mistake". "With charters, they let you carry even an elephant if you want, but those flights are a mafia, it's a disaster, it's outrageous," he pointed out.

In addition to this, there were issues at the hotel in Cayo Santa María where he stayed with his family, and where, among many other issues, none of the four specialty restaurants were functioning. "Only the buffet, the food was very poorly prepared and only three stations were working," he added.

In her lengthy speech, the young Cuban mom also expressed her frustration and pain about the general conditions in Cuba: "Every trip I take, it's worse; you can't go to Cuba."

Despite this, she reaffirmed her commitment to continue visiting the island for the benefit of her family: "I go to Cuba because I have my family there... and I will keep going because I will not forget about my family for anything or anyone."

In his detailed testimony, he also expressed his decision to no longer take his children to Cuba due to the deplorable conditions in the country.

"I had booked a hotel because since we were going with the children, it is impossible to stay in the houses with the blackouts, the heat is unbearable, unsustainable," he explained while also stating that he would not expose his children to that reality anymore, "there are a number of diseases that I cannot explain to them."

The reactions to the video were not long in coming, and among messages of empathy, personal testimonies, or specific questions, criticisms and recommendations were also left.
