Tropical Depression Two showed signs of better organization in its circulation, as well as an increase in the areas of heavy rains near its center, it was determined that it has become Tropical Storm Beryl," INSMET stated.

The tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts and a central minimum pressure of 1006 hectopascals.

At midnight on Friday, Beryl was moving on a westward heading at 30 kilometers per hour and "its central region was located about 1,785 kilometers east-southeast of Barbados, the most eastern island in the Lesser Antilles arch."

"In the next 12 to 24 hours, it should continue to move in a west-northwest direction, gaining more organization and intensity, and could become a hurricane by Sunday, before reaching the arc of the Lesser Antilles, the eastern limit of the Caribbean Sea," warned the Forecast Center of the INSMET.

The next update on this system will be issued at six in the evening this Saturday. According to INSMET, "due to its evolution and future trajectory, close surveillance is being maintained on this tropical cyclone."
