Eduardo Antonio couldn't help but become emotional when he heard a message sent by his mother Olguita from Placetas (Cuba) for Tony Benítez's television show, where the host was interviewing the Divo of Placetas.
During the program, the Cuban singer was asked about his mother. "She is a lady, a woman of character, delicate yet strong," said Eduardo Antonio about his mother, who was then surprised with an audio message.
"Eduardo Antonio, my son. I give you my blessing so that it may serve as a shield against all the malevolent gazes, the envious, those lacking talent who seek to overshadow your story, forty years during which you have always been a winner," his mother said in the audio. Her words inevitably moved Eduardo Antonio.
"This message, among so many that I have received on television, will go down in history because it shows the mother saying 'water, don't touch my child,'" said the Divo, holding back tears of emotion.
"The reality is that I am an artist who has been giving my best for forty years, believing in and loving what I do, and that alone commands respect," added the performer of "Pa los envidiosos," who is one of the most beloved Cuban artists by the audience.
