In an emotional post for the United States Independence Day, Cuban model Marianela Ancheta, a candidate for Miss Universe Cuba 2024, shared a touching memory of her arrival in the country.

Marianela recounted how the fireworks on July 4th reminded her of the difficult journey she experienced with her mother crossing the border through Mexico, without having family in the United States.

"Being seated watching the fireworks up close made me remember when my mom and I crossed the border from Mexico, without having family in this country," wrote Marianela in a story, who has been linked to the footballer James Rodríguez.

Also, Ancheta recalled the difficulties they faced in their early days in the United States: "When I had to walk blocks and blocks carrying bags, boxes of water to drink, and my hands hurt and turned purple from how heavy they were...".

However, the model took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the United States for the opportunities it has provided to her and her mother. "I thank this country for all the opportunities it has given me... to me and to all those of us who have had the need to leave our countries in search of a better future," she added.

Thank you for so much!" she concluded.
