Two young Cubans who were riding a motorcycle died in Cárdenas, Matanzas, when they crashed into a tree near the roundabout that borders the city's cemetery.
The accident occurred on Friday around 7:00 pm.
The driver and his companion (a woman) were traveling on a Kawasaki-type motorcycle that caught fire after crashing into a tree.
According to reports by the Telebandera telecenter, there were witnesses to the incident who revealed that the moped was traveling at high speed.
The official statement adds that forces from the Fire Department, the Medical Emergency Response Service, and the Police immediately arrived at the scene.
In the post, several internet users identified the deceased as Amanda and Tomás, a married couple.
The causes of the tragic incident are being investigated.
