The Cuban Leidy Aragón, who runs a house cleaning business in the United States, stated on social media this Sunday that she prefers to hire people of any nationality other than her compatriots.
"I don't like hiring Cubans to work," the young woman stated in a controversial video posted on TikTok, which, in less than 24 hours, has generated nearly 3,000 comments.
"As an assistant, I prefer Guatemalan or Honduran women," noted the young woman who, despite being Cuban, believes that people from other nationalities are better based on her experience.
Aragón shared a list of reasons and began by saying that Cubans, once they are hired, think they are the boss.
"Second, they want to earn more than what I earn," said Aragón and recounted that once he had a girl who later started stealing his clients. "I don't know if I have had many bad experiences, but the truth is it hasn't worked for me."
The young entrepreneur recounted that, on one occasion, she hired a Cuban woman: "The next day when I saw her come to me, I was almost taken aback, she seemed to be going more to a party than to work."
Aragón pointed out that another reason is that Cubans do not like being corrected: "They know everything".
Lastly, she pointed out that all people who, like her, own a business, know the importance of taking care of it.
The publication has generated a great controversy in the comments section. Some internet users have supported his statements, while others have strongly disagreed.
A person named Chiqui Plus (@yaramilezcano) commented: "I am a manager of a store in Canada and I wish all my employees were Cuban."
The internet user NGAWishes (@ngawishes) said that what is important is not nationality, but education and honesty, which are what makes the difference.
"I am Cuban, but I admire the Haitians for how they help each other, while we are always belittling our own race," pointed out Oro Mi Yeye Espinosa (@oro.mi.yeye.espin).
Elena (@elena28246) expressed: "We Cubans are the only ones who speak ill of our own race, what a thing!"
For @percycaceres192, the problem is that there is no work culture in Cuba: "Nobody works, other countries do have that work culture."
A user named Perla (@chela2700) agreed: "I am Cuban and I have my nail salon in Mexico, I have had the same experience with Cubans, sadly I believe I have not found someone worth it, just as you say." Recently, Aragón, the Cuban herself, had to face strong criticism when she revealed that she worked cleaning houses in Miami.
On the contrary, @real15_ stated that he was in Brazil for seven years "working in cleaning, and when I told my boss that I could no longer continue working, she started crying with sadness."
Recently, the Cuban herself, Aragón, had to face strong criticism after revealing that she worked cleaning houses in Miami.
In her post, the young woman expressed her surprise and discontent with the attitude of some users on the platform who even dared to send her private messages, asking her if she was not ashamed of admitting that she worked in that profession.
