The recent revelation by the Cuban regime about the alleged dismantling of a terrorist plan against the country has sparked a wave of memes on social networks, reflecting the absurd and unbelievable nature of some of the arguments presented, and even of the spokesperson who transmitted them, the host Humberto López.

This Monday, the regime attempted to present evidence against a man who wanted to destabilize the country, after entering the coast of Matanzas on a jet ski, they said during a special program broadcast on National Television on Monday night.

The alleged illegal entry into Cuban territory occurred in November 2023. The regime said it had detained a citizen carrying weapons but did not reveal his identity at that time. They are now sharing the statements made by the alleged terrorist.

However, on social media, contradictory aspects in the statements have been highlighted, the implausibility of the plan, and they have also attacked Humberto López, the usual spokesperson that State Security uses to communicate alleged criminal acts.

Only those from the Old School will remember this series full of intrigues and surprises called... Humbrete the Storyteller," wrote a Facebook user alongside a photo that brings back memories of a popular program that used to air during the holiday season in Cuba: "The Storyteller."

Also, approaching the cinema, the program put together by the Ministry of the Interior in collusion with Cuban Television was compared to the "John Wick" film series.

There were also those memes that related the jet ski to the arrival of the occupants of the Granma yacht to Cuba or to the creator of the phrase "Yo me erizo," so popular among Cubans.

The Cuban dissident Eliécer Ávila staged quite a performance to depict the alleged terrorist plan. "A well-known terrorist is detected entering through La Guabina, a town in Puerto Padre, Las Tunas. He was carrying three loaves of bread, ten aspirins, and many chewing gums, all paid for by the empire."

Due to its high danger, it is recommended not to complain about communism or hold demonstrations in the coming days so that the local "guarapitos" can gather and capture you. Signed, the PCC. Expect more information in upcoming broadcasts. Paid for by the Empire," joked along with several shared photos.

Likewise, questions remained following the statements of the accused presented on the program.

The Cuban authorities identified Ardenys García Álvarez, 40 years old, native of Cienfuegos, as the main executor of the alleged destabilizing acts.

Ardenys had a criminal record for offenses of speculation and robbery with force. He had illegally left the country in 2014 and had been residing in the United States since then.

Colonel Víctor Álvarez Valle pointed out on the television program Razones de Cuba that the detainee illegally entered Cuba carrying weapons, had the intention of subverting the social order, and that the action was "organized and financed by a group of Cuban terrorists based in the U.S.".
