Vigil in Washington for the freedom of Cuba and in tribute to 11J.

Activists in the United States organized a vigil in Washington in front of the Cuban Embassy, in tribute to 11 July and in support of the island's freedom, denouncing repression and supporting political prisoners.

A group of activists convened a vigil in front of the Cuban Embassy in Washington, in tribute to the Third Anniversary of the 11J and for the freedom of Cuba.

During the vigil, the government's repression and the situation of political prisoners on the island were denounced. Thirteen minutes of silence were dedicated in honor of the Cubans murdered by the regime.

The independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta has shared on his social media videos where the organization of the demonstration and several moments of the protest in front of the diplomatic headquarters of the regime can be observed.

The meeting was organized by the Center for a Free Cuba, Cuba Decide, the Heritage Foundation, the Patmos Institute, the Victims of Communism Foundation, and the Young America Foundation.

In addition to commemorating the massive protests of July 11, 2021, the 30th anniversary of the sinking of the Tugboat "13 de Marzo" was remembered.

On July 11th, there will be other commemorative events dedicated to this important date, both in Miami and in other cities around the world.

The Democracy Movement is preparing a demonstration this Thursday at 5:30 PM in front of the emblematic Versailles restaurant on 8th Street and 35th Avenue in Southwest Miami.

The peaceful demonstrations called for the freedom of Cuba not only recall the events of July 11 but also reactivate the call for international solidarity to end the dictatorship of Raúl Castro and Miguel Díaz-Canel and restore democracy to the Caribbean country.
