Young Cuban woman finishes as the third finalist in the beauty pageant Miss Teen Florida.

The Cuban woman, who arrived in the United States five years ago thanks to the family reunification program, competed in the complex event and managed to place third despite English not being her first language.

The young Cuban model Daylin Rodríguez finished as the third finalist in the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant, where she competed representing Miss Carnaval Miami.

The Cuban woman, who arrived in the United States five years ago thanks to the family reunification program, competed in the complex event and managed to place third despite English not being her first language.

"I am very proud of my participation in @missflteenusa, even though English is not my first language, I was able to reach the top 5 and finish as 3rd runner-up, and I am very proud of everything I have achieved in just 5 years in this country," Rodríguez wrote on her social media.

In statements to CiberCuba, Yuliet Peña, the mother of the young woman, stated that "having a Cuban represented in the Florida state contest is wonderful."

Likewise, she indicated that for Rodríguez, a goal is to be able to participate in Miss Universe Cuba at the right time to represent the land that saw her born in the international competition.

He explained that the winners of the Miss Carnaval Miami contest have the opportunity to participate in Miss Teen Florida and Miss Florida.

This year Miss Carnaval Miami had two representatives, Daylin in the Teen category and the model Delaney Milian in the Miss category.

Rodríguez was the winner of Miss Carnaval Miami last year.

In 2022, she was the second runner-up in the Universal Petite 2022 international beauty pageant, held on a cruise that departed from the U.S. city of Tampa.

That same year, Daylin walked the runways of Time Square as part of the group of models chosen by designer Fernando Wong to showcase his outfits at New York Fashion Week 2022.
