Argentina was crowned champion of the Copa America for the sixteenth time thanks to a saving goal by Lautaro Martínez in the 112th minute, defeating Colombia in a final full of emotions.

This triumph marks the extension of a winning cycle that includes a historic treble for the Argentinians: Copa America, World Cup, and Copa America.

The match was a real challenge for Lionel Scaloni's selection, which had to overcome a rough start and Lionel Messi's injury in the 65th minute. However, the Albiceleste showed, as their coach asserts, that they always find solutions.

The final began with controversy when, four hours before the start, an influx of fans without tickets caused the closure of the stadium entrances and a delay of almost an hour and a half for the start of the match.

After much waiting and tension, the match was decided with an efficient strike by Lautaro Martínez who, with his five goals in the tournament, was crowned as the top scorer.

Colombia started better. Néstor Lorenzo's team dominated the first half.

Julián Álvarez tried to open the scoring in the first minute, but it was the Colombians who came closest to scoring with a shot by Jhon Córdoba hitting the post and another from Jefferson Lerma that forced Emiliano Martínez to make a great save.

Messi, although more active than in previous matches, couldn't find his rhythm and suffered a hard tackle that made him limp until the end of the first half.

After an extended break due to Shakira's performance, Colombia kept the initiative, but it was Ángel di María who came closest to scoring for Argentina.

The drama increased when Messi got injured again and left the field in tears.

Nicolás González's entrance revitalized the Albiceleste, but the match turned into a battle of errors and interruptions that led to extra time.

In extra time, Néstor Lorenzo made strategic changes, substituting a lackluster James Rodríguez and bringing in Juanfer Quintero. Camilo Vargas kept Colombia in the game with a great save against Nicolás González.

Lionel Scaloni, in search of the decisive goal, brought in Lautaro Martínez, and he succeeded. Finally, in the 112th minute, Lautaro Martínez appeared to score the goal that gave Argentina the title.
