The director of programs at Cuban Television, Germán Navarro Ors, one of the creators of the police series "Su propia guerra" (Your Own War), passed away this Monday in Havana.
In the Facebook group "Unforgettable Cuban Actors", internet user Carlos Lino Castellón Brito announced the sad farewell of the recipient of the Distinction for National Culture.
Farewell to Germán Navarro, the excellent director of our television. Eternal light for his spirit. Rest in peace, were some of the words from Castellón in his message.
The audiovisual artist will be remembered for his participation in other essential programs such as Aunt Tata Tells Stories, Amigo and his Little Friends, and adventures like Three Friends and the Count of Monte Cristo.
Furthermore, he was part of the casts of the first televised classes in 1967, Palmas y Cañas, Date with Rosita, Behind the Facade, San Nicolás del Peladero, Juntos a las 9, among others, as recalled by the Ministry of Culture's website in a tribute held in 2017.
Meanwhile, a profile dedicated to his figure -published on the ICRT's digital site- described him in 2023, at the age of 94, as a man with a sharp gaze and full of memories after spending 45 years in the "small screen" industry, although he also ventured into theater.
His passing undoubtedly leaves the island's television without one of its great creators.
