"Someday you will thank me" and other typical expressions of Cuban mothers.

Who didn't grow up listening to some of these?

If you were born in Cuba, you surely heard some of these phrases from your mother, shared on TikTok by the user @dr_daygi, who has caused a sensation with a video where she goes over some of the most iconic phrases that Cuban mothers used to say, according to her childhood memories.

Among laughs and anecdotes, the Cuban mentioned expressions that many of her followers found nostalgic and humorous.

"Phrases that Cuban mothers say and that my mom repeated tirelessly," begins the young woman in the video, where she compiles some such as: "girl, calm down because the oven is not for cookies"; "I'm going to give you a slap that everyone will like except you"; "you are not the one in charge"; "you have my life turned into a yogurt"; "at your age, teeth don't come out"; "do you think you have a maid?"; "someday you will thank me for this"; "not even a Chinese doctor can save you from this one"; and "head home."

The comments were not long in coming, and among them many users turned the clock back and relived moments from when they were children or confessed to using them with their own children: "I never found the clothes my mom was looking for, she found them and then I would put on a whole carnival with those clothes"; "It's true, I used to tell my kids 'when you're an adult, you can do whatever you want, but right now, I'm in charge'"; "Yes, I was born in the 70s and my mother never spoke to me like that, but when I had my son in the 90s, that's what I told him"; "I still say that to my son"; "Super, typical of any Cuban mother, all those phrases, you're done and if you haven't heard that, then you're an alien"; "I think Cuban women come with that update," some said.

What do you remember your mom used to tell you? What else would you add?
