An elderly man is hit by a motorcycle in Santiago de Cuba.

The man was placed in a car -apparently a "almendrón"- covered in blood and unconscious, but alive.

A traffic accident occurred this Friday in Santiago de Cuba, where an elderly man was struck by a motorcycle and had to be urgently transferred to the hospital.

The incident occurred near the Micro 9 Police Unit, and the gentleman was taken to Saturnino Lora Provincial Hospital.

According to independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, who published photos of the incident on his Facebook profile, he was placed in a car - apparently a "almendrón" - covered in blood and unconscious, but alive.

Although the identity of the injured person was initially unknown, the user identified as "Modelo Pa Rato Domínguez" revealed in the comments section that the man is her relative and that he is out of danger now.

"They are already stable, thank God, they are going to be admitted for the blow to the head, but everything else is fine so far," she said.

So far, the causes of the accident are not known.
