Like many artists, Roberto San Martín, when he first moved to Miami, had to work in jobs that were not related to acting, and although it wasn't easy, little by little he began to pave his way.
In an interview with Cuban YouTuber Adrián Fernández, the actor recounted how after seven years in Spain, where he achieved great success and public recognition working in well-known films and series such as "Aquí no hay quien viva" and "La que se avecina," he decided to move to Miami with his family because he felt he had reached his peak in the Iberian country.
"I have done everything here, everything, from driving Uber," the artist confessed and recalled that on one occasion while driving Uber in Miami Beach he had to take three Spaniards who recognized him for his character Yago in "Aquí no hay quien viva."
The Spanish man didn't believe he was doing well if he was driving for Uber, and San Martín thought to tell him that he was studying for a character in a movie who is an Uber driver.
Despite the fact that the early times in that city were difficult, there is something he really liked about Miami: “This is a place where if you want to and if you put in the effort, you can always grow, you always have a goal that feels far away, but you know you can reach it. In Spain, I reached a point where I had already hit the ceiling.”
After doing a lot of theater and starting to work on social media, where he also began to make a name for himself, he returned for personal reasons to Spain, where he was again for almost seven years, and his YouTube channel "La Familia Pérez" achieved its success.
However, Roberto San Martín, his wife Alicia, and their daughters have returned once again to the United States: “We just moved to Florida, I am working on setting up my house that I just bought, making my home the way I want it, getting my daughters started in school and having them adapt again, growing my channel as much as I can, my social media, ‘La Familia Pérez’ on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok, which is going great for us.”
Roberto San Martín also left the door open in case theater and acting projects arise in the future.
