The Cuban Mario de León Díaz, a 26-year-old young man who was facing a deportation order, was able to reunite with his pregnant wife Marien Acosta after being released by U.S. immigration authorities.

The migrant had an I-220B document and had been detained by ICE during a routine appointment to be deported on the flight that left for the island last Friday with 54 Cubans.

However, late Thursday, a request from the family’s lawyer, Eduardo Soto, was approved, who submitted a request for an emergency Parole, arguing the delicate situation of the pregnant wife.

"You no longer have to appear for the immigration appointment, we got that off our shoulders," said the young woman to reporter Javier Díaz, who showed the first images of the couple's reunion through Telemundo 51.

In statements to the journalist, the migrant thanked the support of the Cuban community in Miami, which pressured for his release.

The woman had pleaded last week for her husband to be released and to prevent the separation of her family.

Now they celebrate that everything went according to the best of expectations, as more than fifty Cubans, most of whom are also young and with no criminal records, were sent to Cuba last Friday.
