The Cuban comedian Otto Ortiz, known for using humor to denounce societal problems and the regime, expressed on Tuesday that he would like to live in Cuban Television: “There is so much optimism, so much joy, so much faith in the future.”

Ortiz lamented on Facebook his residence in Nuevo Vedado, and listed the reasons why he believes it would be much better to live in Cuban Television.

"My television life would have the dollar at 120... At 120!" the comedian pointed out, denouncing that the regime maintains that exchange rate, while the informal exchange rate in Cuba is very different.

"If I lived on television, the National Insurance Company (ESEN) would surely have already replaced the car they owe me from almost five years ago, but no, they are still on 2019 and haven't given anything for months."

The comedian announced in 2023 his intention to sue ESEN for breaching their agreement and accused it, along with its entire management, of making agreements for years that it cannot fulfill, and of only "meeting with its disgruntled clients to buy time and prolong their agony."

The comedian went after that company because in the past he signed a contract to insure his car, but it was of no use to him.

Finally, Ortiz said that another reason for moving to the "neighborhood" of the Cuban Television is that "ETECSA, Aguas de La Habana, the Electric Company, Public Health, and even private farms, are all national vanguards and aimed at the people," thus denouncing that the media outlets that are spokespeople for the government transmit a Cuban reality that is conflict-free and sanitized.

"Finally, I trade," the Cuban comedian finally stated, who in April reacted angrily to the program aired by the Mesa Redonda dedicated to the topic of insurance in Cuba: "Lying is already a way of life," he said.

In the comments section, the followers of the comedian agreed that, for Cuban Television, the country has very few problems.

Yaquelin Pérez stated that: “Cuban TV is a shelter where there is everything. Really, if you want to achieve your goal, you must transfer to the NTV. There, everything works and it is nice in favor of the people. Corruption is fought, the markets are full, the factories are producing, and the ESEN is doing hard work.”

For his part, Rafael Duenas expressed that he is about to "return from the U.S. to live in the NTV. That is good, the NTV is better than the U.S. Neither here are so many plans fulfilled, nor is there so much joy, nor do things work so well."

"I wonder if 'those people' don't feel shame or embarrassment about everything they say, that we all (including them) know are lies," pointed out Maleybis Pérez Camacho.
