Body camera shows American officers identifying the body of Trump's shooter.

Several officers can also be seen on the roof from where they shot at the former president over 400 feet away.

A video from a body camera was released showing local law enforcement and a U.S. Secret Service agent identifying the body of the attacker following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Published by Republican Senator Chuck Grassley on the social network X, several officials can be seen on the roof from where Trump was shot at from over 400 feet away, according to CBS News.

The body of the attacker, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, is also seen on the roof alongside traces of blood.

Similarly, it is reported that the deceased matches the description of the suspicious person in the photos that were circulated before the shooting.

"A sniper from Beaver County saw and sent the photos, this is him," says the agent in the video, referring to the body of the shooter.

"I don't know if you received the same photos as I did?" asks an officer to the agent about the photos.

"I think so, he (the shooter) has his glasses on," the agent replies during the conversation.

The official adds that the sniper "sent the original photos, and he saw (the shooter) arrive on a bicycle, leave the backpack, and then lost sight of him."

Kimberly Cheatle, director of the United States Secret Service, resigned on Tuesday following criticism stemming from the security mistakes at the rally in Butler, according to NBC.

Cheatle -who had been in office since August 2022- faced numerous calls for resignation and several investigations into how the assailant was able to get so close to the Republican presidential candidate during the outdoor rally.

The Republican candidate for the upcoming presidential elections in the United States, Trump, was taken out in an emergency during a rally.

Finally, one person in the audience died, the shooter, and there were two more people injured, while a bullet also grazed the ear of the former president.
