The networks are abuzz with the unfulfilled promises of the government for a summer without blackouts.

"This is a constant psychological disturbance, and on top of that, one lie after another; no one provides a solution to these problems that worsen every day."

Criticism of the Cuban government continues online for its unfulfilled promises that this would be a summer without blackouts, after recent days have seen power outages exceed even the experts' forecasts.

On Monday, the Unión Eléctrica (UNE) announced an outage of 390 MW, but as often happens, the estimate was short and finally, blackouts of 708 MW of deficit were reported, almost double the initial calculation. The causes, claims the UNE, were a shortage of fuel and a demand higher than expected.

Cubans are tired of hearing excuses and pretexts to mask the regime's inefficiency.

CiberCuba's reports on the topic have sparked hundreds of criticisms against the government and the UNE, which announced in June an improvement in thermal electricity generation this summer, with about 100 MW more than last year.

"This is a constant psychological disturbance, and to make matters worse, one lie after another; no one is providing a solution to these problems that are getting worse every day," expressed a young man on the Facebook wall of this editorial office.

Amid the constant breakdowns of the old and deteriorated thermoelectric plants and the lack of fuel, the people spend the hottest months and school vacation in long electricity blackouts, while helplessness and despair grow.

"Blackouts are here to stay. This has been a tough summer for the Cuban people, for our children who eagerly awaited their well-deserved vacations. For one reason or another, the blackouts do not cease, especially at night when we have the company of mosquitoes that transmit diseases that can even be fatal," said a resident of Matanzas.

"In our country, there were small thermoelectric plants that were built before the triumph of the Revolution, some of which operated with natural gas that is now burned due to a lack of means to utilize it, and they worked with national oil. The reasons why they were dismantled, broken into pieces, and allowed to be lost have never been disclosed," recalled a father.

"Now in September they start with the tooth, and this year we are going to prepare to have a year-end like the people deserve, with an abundance of food and bringing electrical interruptions to almost zero and blah, blah, blah…" noted a user.

"Guys, they said for the summer, but at no point did they say which summer it would be, haha," another one joked.

"It is important to realize that nothing they say has a logical reason, promises and more promises and everyone flies away. But what should never fly away is the word and the dignity of men, because when this doesn't work, everything is a lie and chaos," emphasized an internet user.

"The saddest thing of all is that we don't know what promise we Cubans are paying that never ends. When will we be able to rest from this debt?" a woman questioned.

"Thanks to the PCC my country is advancing and that hurts, it advances backwards but it advances like a crab," another one mocked.
