Otto Ortiz shows the life cycle of a pair of underwear in Cuba: “From garment to dust cloth”

The comedian Otto Ortiz illustrated the life cycle of a pair of underwear in Cuba, which begins as innerwear and ends up being reused as a dust cloth in households.

Ortiz explained on Facebook this Wednesday that when a nearly new pair of underwear gets a small hole, it stops being a seductive garment and is used for tasks like masonry, mechanics, or extreme sports.

"And how long will you be doing those tasks? Until the hole is so big that a testicle comes out of there," the comedian pointed out, barely containing his laughter.

"Then it goes to the cleaning area," he pointed out. "And it is used as a dust rag, for mechanics, for washing your hands."

Finally, he stated: “That is called creative resistance.”

This Tuesday, Ortiz, who is known for using humor to highlight societal issues and the regime, expressed that he would like to live on Cuban Television: "There is so much optimism, so much joy, so much faith in the future."

Ortiz lamented on Facebook his residence in Nuevo Vedado and listed the reasons why he believes it would be much better to live in Televisión Cubana.

Some of the reasons for moving to the "neighborhood" of Televisión Cubana is that "ETECSA, Aguas de La Habana, the Electric Company, Public Health, and even the private markets, were all national front-runners and in service of the people," thereby denouncing that the media outlets that are spokespersons for the official narrative transmit a conflict-free and sanitized Cuban reality.
